Before and after your visit
It is normal to experience soreness for some time following treatment. Aspirin, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or Advil every four to six hours will usually relieve this situation.
Discomfort following visits in no way affects the successful outcome of treatment.
The tooth opening through which endodontic therapy was done may have been sealed with a temporary filling. Arrange to see your family dentist within the next few weeks to have the tooth permanently restored unless otherwise informed by the endodontist.
Usually, the endodontically treated tooth has been weakened by previous decay and fillings. It is often necessary for this tooth to receive additional protection in the form of a crown (or cap). Your family dentist is the best qualified to determine how to restore your tooth. A note and x-ray are being sent to your dentist, informing him/her that treatment has been completed.
